Treatability of chromite ore processing waste by leaching ...
In this study, leaching characteristics of total Cr and Cr(VI) were investigated using laboratory column studies. The data obtained from the experimental studies were analysed to assess the treatability of chromite ore processing waste (COPW) by leaching and to identify the leaching strategies that enhance mass removal rates of chromium species.
Digitalisation of ore composition and its benefits
· Average ore grades are falling in the mining industry and consequently optimising metal recovery through automated grade control and preconcentration improves mineral resource utilisation, process plant efficiency, conservation of process consumables, reduced production of fine tailings, and improved overall sustainability of operations.

Common Basic Formulas for Mineral Processing Calculations
· Pulp Densities. Pulp densities indie by means of a tabulation the percentages of solids (or liquidtosolid ratio) in a sample of pulp. This figure is valuable in two ways—directly, because for each unit process and operation in milling the optimum pulp density must be established and maintained, and indirectly, because certain important tonnage calculations are based on pulp density.

Chemistry 332 Basic Inorganic Chemistry II
Chromium is not typically prepared in the laboratory given its commercial availability. The most common commercial source of chromium is the ore chromite, FeCr2O4. Oxidation of this ore by air in molten alkali gives sodium chromate, Na2CrO4 in which the chromium is in the +6 oxidation state.
